Ellery has been sleeping through the night since about 2 1/2 months. Now, I say this a bit hesitantly because sleeping through the night can mean so many things to many different people. In my book, this means, we are not getting up to feed at all between the hours of 12am and 5am and I am getting a solid 5 hours of sleep. At her 2 month check up her doctor asked how the sleep was going. When I reported that I was getting up at 11pm, 3am and 5am, he suggested I try just patting her back down at the 3am time instead of getting her up to feed. I tried it and it worked!!! Then shortly after that she dropped the 11pm feeding and then the 5am feeding. However....she continued to stir at 3am pretty consistently. Because of this, I have kept her in the pack-n-play bassinet in our room, because I don't want to run all the way upstairs to her room just to pat her back to sleep. Well, about 3 weeks ago, I woke up in a panic at 5am, because I didn't have my 3am wake-up call! When I looked over in the bassinet, Ellery was still fast asleep. We had truly...slept through the night!! This has continued since!!! Yes...she is sleeping a solid 10 hours now!! Ellery's bed time is around 9:30-10:00pm and she wakes up at around 7:30am! So....since we hit this huge milestone (for Ellery) I figured I needed to start thinking about putting her in her "Big Girl Bed". I really loved having her sleep so close, but it was time and she was ready! So, I made a deadline of her 4 month birthday. I procrastinated for 2 more days....but we did it!! Baby Elle slept through the night in her own Big Girl Bed last night!!! Thank goodness for video monitors!!! We are so proud of our "Big Girl"....and quite honestly....I'm proud of "me" too! :)
